On the 8:th of July, 1973, a young man writes the words “consulta popular” on a wall in his neighbourhood. He is shot in the back by a policeman and bleeds to death at the scene. He becomes one of the first victims of the Uruguayan dictatorship. 20 years after his death, a street in his neighborhood is named after him. Another 15 years later there is discussion of extending the boundaries of the street. To his parents this brings back a lot of old memories. Along with Walter Medinas friends they tell the story about what happend in the area of Piedras Blancas after his death.

Walter Eduardo Medina was my fathers older brother and I feel it is time to document his life before history fades.
